Puke Ariki has two awesome video streaming services available to our customers.

Kanopy is a video streaming platform with one of the largest and most unique collections in the world featuring over 30,000 movies, documentaries, and foreign films. You can browse the huge collection or check out content by subject, for example the arts, business and training, health sciences, media and communication, natural sciences, social sciences and teacher education.

Kanopy’s motto is thoughtful entertainment - its aim is to provide library users with access to films of unique social and cultural value; films that are often difficult or impossible to access elsewhere.

You can access Kanopy online from your computer or you can download the Kanopy App for Android or Apple IOS. For more information check out Getting Started with Kanopy.

All you need to do is:

  • sign up with your email address and create a Kanopy account
  • select Puke Ariki Libraries and enter your library card number and pin
  • you can view up to 6 movies per month free of charge and unlimited kids content.

We have just discovered all the awesome movies and doco’s on Kanopy. It is really simple to set up and use and best of all it is free through our Puke Ariki library membership. We have been watching some great art house movies and documentaries with our kids, most of which you just can’t find on your common streaming services.
