Thank you for your interest in donating to the collection.

Puke Ariki Museum has decided to place temporary moratorium on new acquisitions: Beginning 1 June 2021 and lasting until November 2022, the museum is pausing all collecting activities in order to prioritise the care and cataloguing of existing objects.

If you have found anything that falls under the Protected Objects Act, we will continue to help you with this. Please contact us if you find any taonga tūturu so that we can help negotiate their return to iwi. If you have any questions about the Protected Objects Act, you can read more here.

We understand that this may be frustrating; please know that the decision to temporarily pause our collecting activities was not taken lightly. We hold all our objects in public trust and strive to do right by them and by our visitors.

Our curatorial team looks forward to hearing about your items and to meeting with you once the collections moratorium ends in November 2022. If you would like to express your interest for potential items to be donated onto our Wait-List Register, please contact Cameron S. Curd, Pouwhakairi - Collections, Curatorial, and Exhibitions Lead on cameron.curd@npdc.govt.nz

We thank you for considering Puke Ariki as the permanent home for your objects and invite you to contact us with your potential donations once the moratorium is over.

If you have any questions, please contact us at PAHeritageEnquiries@npdc.govt.nz
